The Ford Airfield Eco-town bid is one of fifteen shortlisted by the Government for further consultation.

The Government aims to complete its consultation and sustainability appraisal by the summer, with the final selection of up to 10 Eco-town locations published in the Autumn. The Goverment’s aim is for construction of the first Eco-town to begin in 2010.

The fifteen experts on the Eco-towns Challenge Panel have subsequently set out a series of recommendations for potential eco-town developers having met them during June 2008.
